FREE SCREENING – My Life In China A documentary film by Kenneth Eng
Plan to attend a free screening of My Life in China, a documentary film directed by Kenneth Eng on Saturday July 30th 4-6 pm at the Chinese-American Museum of Chicago or Monday August 1st 6-8 pm at Pui Tak Center. This film follows Kenneth Eng’s journey with his father to the family’s home village in Taishan. It also talks about the sacrifices made when his father left China. Many immigrants will be able to relate to this story. The director will be present after each screening for Q&A sessions. The 16th Annual Chicago Dragon Boat Race for Literacy took place on Saturday, June 25th at Ping Tom Memorial Park in Chinatown. The event attracted thousands of visitors to the park to watch thirty competitive dragon boat teams race on the south branch of the Chicago River in addition to children’s activities, vendor booths, fantastic performances and the free Chinatown Trolley.
CONGRATULATIONS to our 2016 winners of the Dragon Boat Race for Literacy! First Place was awarded to HSBC Red Dragons; Second Place was Team United Sky Dragons GS and Third Place was Team Toast’em & the Pop-up Paddlers. All teams worked hard training for the event and gave it their best during the races. They were ALL WINNERS! View race times for all teams.
