Meet in Chinatown Square by the Zodiac Animal Statues (Approxmiately 2134 S. Archer Ave.) Please arrive at least 15 minutes before for registration.
Traditional Chinese Medicine or TCM originated in ancient China more than 2,000 years ago. During this walking tour through Chinatown, you will learn about the history and philosophy of traditional Chinese medicine and the theory of “Yin-Yang”. You will visit two shops to see the vast variety of herbs incorporated into TCM and learn about some common herbs used in herbal remedies. The final stop will be at Kent Young Health Products where you will learn about other methods of TCM including acupuncture and cupping.

18th Street Bridge Reconstruction Begins Wednesday December 10, 2014The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) will begin work on the reconstruction of the 18th Street Bridge over the Chicago River, a major travel connection to and from the South Loop and Chinatown neighborhoods. Reconstruction of this bridge, built in 1967, will require a full closure of the bridge from December 10, 2014 through April 1, 2015. During the construction period, all vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be detoured. See detailed maps with vehicular and bicycle traffic detours.
